Sunday. The day of rest. At least that's how it's considered in the western world, and a large part of the non western world that have been touch by the hand of imperialism in their history. You hear very few people talking about how much they hate Sundays. I'm not a religious person. If anything I suppose I'm agnostic, certainly not an atheist. For as long as I've been alive and taking an interest in the society that I live in, Christian churches have been complaining about falling attendance. Which would indicate that the ranks of agnostics and atheists are growing. But everybody still loves Sunday. That day of rest, that has been afforded us by the writings of the holy Bible for spiritual contemplation. Don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that if you want to really enjoy Sunday you should go join a church. After all spiritual contemplation isn't restricted to just those who follow a religion, is it?
As i said, I'm not a Christian. But I do like to think of myself as a spiritual being, or spiritually aware. We're fortunate enough to live on a planet of such an abundance of all things, particularly love. I know at the moment its easy for us to focus on the negative aspects of the world that we live in. The situation in the Middle East. Global disparity of wealth. Terrorism. The general lack of respect for our planet, to name but a few of the more global concerns. But for everyone involved in exacerbating one or more of these problems ( and we're all guilty. Maybe not of terrorism. But certainly lack of respect for our planet must creep in there somewhere), love would be the one thing that ties us all together. We all have parents who we love. Or children, or siblings, members of our wider family and friends. I feel that that love which we all feel is one of our most profound spiritual acts.Â
The gemstones in my possession, and their barely perceptible vibrations, have been on this planet for millions of years. Through them I feel connected to the planet that I come from. The planet that is giving me and mine, and all of you, so much. None more so then Unakite, which acts to balance the emotional body, bringing it into alignment with higher forces of spirituality. Which for me is very important, as I'm always looking for ways to become more spiritual. To elevate my own vibration. I'm only human, and as such crammed full of subconscious emotional blockages. But Unakite is a gemstone that I believe can help one deal with events of the past which instilled those blockages, allowing more space for love and spirituality .Â
Unakite is a mottled type of granite, consisting of olive green epidote and pinkish orange orthoclase feldspar. It gets its name from where it was 1st discovered, the Unakas mountains of North Carolina, USA.Â
Whether you are religious, agnostic or atheist, Sunday's bring families and friends together to exhibit love for one another, which is the easiest thing in the world for us to do. Even those of us spending Sunday alone, may spend some of that time reflecting on family and friends and subconsciously, or consciously wishing them well, thus reinforcing love and spirituality. Which a lot of you may have thought would be a hard thing to do. There isn't really any need for a gemstone here, as exhibiting this form of spirituality is so easy to do. But unakite's loving vibrations will certainly do you no harm at all.
